The internet has being around for years, but it has being a product of humans. It has made life very easy, and cause a lot of change in the way we live for years, information spreads really fast and can get to anyone at any time, we can learn a lot online and even get a degree in online platforms like; cousera, khan academy, udemy etc. and a lot of other cool stuffs, it has always being an internet of people.

But, there’s another type of internet that would once again change the way we live it’s called the Internet of things. Just the same way the internet of people allows people to communicate and share information very fast, is the same way non-living things would also communicate and share information with each other. Crazy right? Yes it is but it’s happening anyway. The internet of things is a system of connected things/devices allowing them to communicate, share and receive data from each other.

As regards health, the internet of things immediately informs an individual when there are abnormalities in his or her system and immediately give remedy if it’s something you can treat yourself but if not, it sends the data of your body system and the remedy to the hospital and so you wouldn’t have to explains the symptoms to the doctor and saving you the stress of running series of tests before the real problem is discovered. As regards your cars, house, home appliances etc. it helps you detect the problem when anything goes wrong in the car, house or any of the home appliances, you just tell the repairer the exact cause of the problem prevent tempering of other things in the device which had no issue or it could help you contact the right person to do the repairs sending him the data.
The internet of things was born in the year 2008-2009 and we already have a lot of devices connected to the internet such as smart cars, smart houses, smart speakers etc. and by 2020 it is expected that 26 billion devices will be part of internet of things.
The Challenges of Internet of Things
Like any other technology there are challenges which make the viability of IoT doubtful. Security is one of the major concerns of experts who believe virtually endless connected devices and information sharing can severely compromise one’s security and well-being. Unlike other hacking episodes which compromise online data and privacy with IoT devices can open gateway for an entire network to be hacked.

Internet of Things is truly a game changing concept and whatever challenges may be present, there will be rapid growth in the number of connected devices. There is still need for us to understand concepts of IoT and the flaws that are underlying. As more and more devices start to connect the need will force technocrats to come up with most advanced concepts and methods to ensure growth of this technology.

By the time what we can do best is to educate ourselves on various IoT technologies and keep experimenting with new stuff. Here are some links to know more about the internet of things; https://internetofthingswiki.com/internet-of-things-definition/, https://youtu.be/FgWy0I0yfuM.
